The Cold WarMoreWHAT IF THE PRESIDENT WAS A COMMUNIST?Some stories are insightful...some are downright prophetic. In November, 1956, Nikita Khrushchev, Premier of the Soviet Union, shook his fist at the United States and threatened, We will bury you! The Cold War was in high gear, and people around the world watched in fear as the superpowers amassed tanks, armies, and nuclear weapons in a frantic arms buildup that seemed destined to destroy civilization.

Little reported and largely unnoticed at the time was the secret attack launched by the Soviets against the very fabric of American society. Communist agents infiltrated American schools, businesses, media, and even political circles, and began the slow and patient process of convincing the baby boom generation that socialism fostered a far superior way of life than did the freedoms and traditional values bestowed on us by our nations founding fathers.

The Communists knew in 1956 that they could not defeat the United States militarily...they had a better chance of victory on an entirely different front.ALL OF THAT IS HISTORICAL FACT!Nikitas War is a fiction that begins with the very real plot to convert the United States to socialism. Kurt Leichtman, a brilliant young associate of Premier Nikita Khrushchev, develops the plan and moves to the United States to oversee its implementation.

He procures a teaching position at a major university and begins to cultivate a friendship with a young, female student who hopes to become President of the United States. Her nefarious past is discovered during the primary elections, however, and she loses to a relatively unknown candidate who is also a plant from Leichtmans plan. President Lassiter Ashanti is elected and immediately begins programs that allow the government to take over Americas banking system, healthcare delivery system, and much of its industry. Other social programs are designed and implemented to make as many people as possible dependent on government for their livelihood. An unlikely group of American patriots, consisting of a wheelchair-bound investigative reporter, a brain-damaged Vietnam War hero, a retired FBI agent, and a soon-to-be-retired D.C.

cop, discover the new Presidents association with the sixty-year-old plot to socialize America. Our heroes race the clock as they attempt to find a way to stop the President and his henchmen before they can unleash the full extent of their plan to bring the United States of America into the Communist fold, as envisioned by Kurt Leichtman and Premier Khrushchev long ago.Nikitas War is a fast paced story that will provide you with action, suspense, and political intrigue.

For readers who have asked themselves, How did our country get into this current mess, and what do those politicians in Washington think they are doing? this story will provide one possible answer. It is important to remember one thing as you read: Nikitas War is fiction...or is it?This book is a sequel to the authors first novel, A Question of Character, which is available at most bookstores and e-book venues. Some of the characters in Nikitas War were introduced in A Question of Character, but both books stand on their own as captivating stories of suspense, intrigue, and social commentary.
